Work has proceeded steadily over the weeks since R J Pinnock and Sons started on site with the following milestones achieved:
- Organ dismantled and, together with the church furnishings, put into store.
- New water main – trench excavated and pipe laid together with data duct for future use.
- Excavation for new foul drainage complete, cesspool installed and connecting pipe work installed.
- Replacement of defective plaster at the west end of the nave and in the tower complete.
- First stage construction of new floors in tower and nave.
- First stage construction of new lavatory and improved belfry access.
- First stage electrical work undertaken.
- Existing floor ducts cleared and repaired as necessary.
The project is on schedule and the congregation looks forward to returning to the church in September.
