Madingley War Memorial conserved for the future

The Madingley War Memorial, located on the wall by the South Door of the church, has been cleaned and conserved.  It records the names of 16 young Madingley men who gave their lives in World War One and one who perished in the Far East during World War 2. We are most grateful to Jean, David and Kathy Lawrence, whose generous donation made this work possible.  Jean now lives in the United States but has fond memories of her childhood spent in Madingley.  On a visit to the church with her family in 2018 she explained that she would very much like to see the War Memorial properly conserved and it is wonderful to see this work now complete.  The work was undertaken by Lucy Branch of Antique Bronze.
